The next installment in our My Mind’s Eye feature week comes from Card Annex designer Sharon Callis! Today, Sharon is highlighting part of the new Collectable collection that was introduced at CHA Winter 2013.
The lovely paper flowers were handmade by Sharon from paper scraps! It’s a great way to make custom embellishments that are just perfect for your card.
Layering dark patterned paper behind the die-cut cutouts created a jeweled effect in the die cut! Sharon also emphasized the ede of her sentiment panel by inking the edges with a soft rose ink – Tim Holtz’a Tattered Rose Distress Ink. The sentiment panel is a 3×4 card cut from a patterned paper, but Sharon customized it by punching the corners.
Supplies | Patterned Paper: My Mind’s Eye “Collectable” (Charm, Pleasant, Journal, Tale). Adhesive: Xyron (Mega Runner, Glue Stick, Creative Station). Die: Spellbinders (A2 Floral Ribbon Threader Nestabilities). Ink: Ranger Tim Holtz Distress (Tattered Rose).
